Your first post is gonna be about some classical music?!
Yes. it is. And, fuck If I know why.
Download this.
It's Pachelbel's Canon, also known as Canon in D major.
On first blush you'll recognize it from one of any number of fuck-spensive luxury-diamond-car-with-a-big-bow commercials. The adver-teasing agencies have actually almost made a cliche of the song in my opinion. But, they only scrape off the most recognizable part. They left out the good stuff.
This is the only classical tune that I have on my iPod. I'm always skipping and shuffling about on my iPod. Rarely, do I ever listen to one song start to finish. Until this one comes on.
Turn up your volume a good bit. I don't think that this is one of the songs that was supposed to be played softly or even at weddings. Don't pay attention to the primary instruments. Pay more attention to the second and third instruments that seem to have NO FUCKING CLUE what they're doing. A couple of them hit before and after the beat. They are really just doing their own thing. The more I listen, the more I think that THOSE voices are the real stars of this piece. They make it pop. This track just really soothes me. I bet all you folks could use a touch of soothing too.
I'm certainly not an expert on classical music by any stretch of the word. I only kinda know one person who is; Robert Rummel-Hudson. Check out his blog about his adventures with his wordless daughter, Schuyler, here:http://www.schuylersmonsterblog.com/
I don't know where I'm going exactly with this post. Maybe I'm trying to say ;
When you see a room full of people all doing the same thing, trying to follow the guy standing in front of them waving his hands, pay attention to the weirdos in the back. They're the ones that are doing the interesting shit.
If you're one of those weirdos. Drop me a line.
Ate One for. Six ate too. Six ate 7 too.
